Dolomite Villas Condo Courtyard
In Spring of 2018 Burke Homes reached out to us regarding a unique opportunity in Aspen, CO. We have completed several other projects with Burke and with Burke and A-1 Land Care from a construction stand point. Stone was asked to fly out to Aspen with A-1 and Burke and look at a condo complex that one of their clients owned. We were thrilled and jumped at the opportunity. The building was in need of both cosmetic and structural updates. In the middle of the complex there was a small courtyard that was very outdated and had some areas that were actually broken and falling apart. We proposed removal of an old deck and dilapidated set of wood steps and incorporated structurally sound walls and natural stone slab stairs. We also used concrete pavers for the courtyard with some minor landscape improvements to soften the layout. After the initial concept was completed we had to incorporate some major water saving mechanisms such as permeable pavers and underground stormwater storage with the help of a local engineer. These required additions were incorporated into the design to appease the City of Aspen's engineering department.
